Charity (she/her) is licensed as an Associate LPC-MHSP in Tennessee (8854). She received her M.Ed with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University.

In her view, counseling is about creating a supportive, client-centered, relational space that is facilitative of self-exploration, self-development, shadow work, inner child exploration, emotional processing, healing, integration, attachment security development, and a natural unfolding of our innate propensity for growth. Her wish is to support individuals to flourish from the dimension of relative wholeness in ways that positively influence their lives relationally, emotionally, and even spiritually. She has a deep trust in your inner wisdom and takes a collaborative approach that fully honors your lived and felt experience.

In session, Charity may draw from multiple modalities including IFS (Internal Family Systems), mindfulness, non-violent communication (NVC), somatics, polyvagal theory, and attachment healing. She is currently completing her level one certification in Integrative Attachment Therapy modality developed by Dr. David Elliot and the late Dr. Daniel P. Brown. Integrative Attachment Therapy (IAT) is a treatment that focuses on repairing emotional and relational issues connected to early attachment patterns. It’s based on attachment theory, which says that early bonds with caregivers shape our emotional and relational development. The goal is to help you feel secure and rebuild trust within your relationships throughout your life.

Her long time interest in and exploration of consciousness studies, world religions, contemplative traditions, and meditation has exposed her to a wide range of traditions and practices. Her primary focus has been on Mahamudra and Dzogchen since she first encountered Dr. Daniel P. Brown and Dustin DiPerna. She has been training and serving in the role of Teaching Assistant within an Indo-Tibetan lineage since 2022. She has personally spent over 200 days in meditation retreat with thousands of total meditation hours.

Prior to being inspired to make a mid-career pivot into counseling, Charity served as a longtime educator within the Deeper Learning movement focused on meaningful, hands-on, community-connected learning. Her consulting work supporting aspirational education initiatives has taken her to conferences and learning communities around the United States as well as internationally to countries including Hong Kong, Australia, India, Qatar, and extensively across Canada. In that line, she also holds a Master’s in Education with a specialization in Organizational Development as well as a Bachelor’s in Education and a second Bachelor’s in French.

When she is not studying or working, Charity enjoys music, movement, gardening, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family, including her now 21-year-old son.
