Don (he/him) is a Clinical Intern at ETG and is pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at Tennessee State University. ETG Clinical Interns can provide low-fee therapy services.
A Buddhist chaplain and meditation teacher, Don has particular experience with religious trauma, spiritual exploration (including non-traditional paths), attachment wounds, trauma, and addiction/recovery. In session, he may draw from several modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and the Ideal Parent-Figure Protocol. The Ideal Parent-Figure Protocol is an attachment-focused imagery based practice that helps people heal relational wounds and supports inner child healing.
Before he transitioned into social work, Don built a career in technology, founding and operating an IT consulting business in Nashville. He also holds a BBA and an MBA. This professional background brings a practical perspective to his work, along with ample practice in patience and equanimity.
Outside of work, Don can be found paddling his 16-foot sea kayak (somewhat unusual in Nashville), cooking, spending time with his lovely bride, or walking his dog, Yin.
